Our Approach

Lorem Ipsum Dolor

We Support the Whole Child

We Individualize

teaching and learning to develop scholars’ metacognitive skills through strategies such as student-led conferences and individualized Scholar Success Plans.

We Integrate

the school’s social justice theme throughout the curriculum and overall educational experience, encouraging scholars to see themselves as members of a broader community and preparing them to become agents of change.

We Provide

a personalized network of social-emotional supports through our Advisory model, which is designed to strengthen relationships among scholars, staff, and their learning environment.

We Hold High Expectations

for each scholar to maximize their potential, tailored to their strengths and growth areas, to support their success in college, career, and beyond.

We Value

consistent parent/guardian engagement to support each scholar's specific needs.

Core Elements of the Capital Prep Model

College Preparatory Model

as early as 6th grade, with rigorous academics and high expectations

Two-Sport Requirement

including competitive varsity athletics, promoting values of teamwork, sportsmanship, positive self-esteem, and health & wellness.

Immersive Social Justice Education

that develops scholars as agents of change in their community & beyond. Seniors must complete and pass Capital Prep's Social Justice Project (SJP) as a graduation requirement.

Dual Enrollment Program

that provides the opportunity for scholars to take college classes, collect college credits, and even earn their Associate Degree at the same time as their High School Diploma.

Student-Led Leadership

such as student-led conferences, student government, and more - that support our scholars’ personal and academic growth beyond the classroom

Whole-Child Approach

with a unique Advisory Model that personally monitors academic achievement as well as social-emotional progress.

Extended Learning

Our extended school year, starting in August through late June (plus summer enrichment), and an extended school day that includes enrichment and athletics, provides even more opportunities to learn and grow.
