Capital Prep's Two-Sport Requirement

Throughout the course of the year, scholars are required to participate in a 2-sport minimum, either as a player or as support staff. This commitment is baked into our extended school day and year and showcases the dedication of our scholars, families, and staff who actively engage in after-school practices, weekend games, and events throughout the athletics seasons.

The Capital Prep Athletic Department’s mission is to provide a comprehensive, diverse, wholesome, and dynamic program. As an integral part of a student’s total education, athletics instills the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, positive self-esteem, and health & wellness.

Sports are subject to change. Please contact us for the most updated list of sports available.

Network-wide Events

We are proud to bring the Capital Prep community together outside the classroom for our network-wide events! In the spirit of togetherness, fun memories, and of course, friendly competition, each year we amplify our network events to get bigger, better, and even more fun!

Battle for the Crest

The Battle for the Crest football game, normally combined with a network-wide Homecoming celebration, is a Capital Prep tradition. A contest for bragging rights between our schools, teams cross state lines and battle it out on the gridiron for the ultimate prize, the giant Capital Prep Crest. Whoever wins takes the Crest and gets to display it with pride in their respective school building until the next year.

Winter Classic

Our annual Winter Classic Basketball Tournament features middle school and high school round robin-style games, with cheer performances and more!

Dr. Joan Miller Volleyball Tournament

The Dr. Joan Miller Volleyball Tournament is a new tradition at Capital Prep and aims to bring together our volleyball star-athletes for an afternoon of friendly competition and fun together as a network!

Capital Prep Cheer Showcase

Cheerleading is no longer for the sidelines at our Capital Prep Cheer Showcase! Our cheer teams show up and show out for an afternoon of epic performances, including our Lower School cheer sharks!

CPREP Relays

CPREP Relays is our signature track and field event for our track, field, and cross country athletes. Catch them if you can!
